Rating - 3.25/5

With a backdrop of great commercial script, long duration of shooting, big cast and high budget, there had been a tremendous expectations and hype created on the movie. KICCHA has surpassed all these expectations and has pulled out an extra-ordinary family, Mass and Class entertainer. Although remake, Kiccha has put his honest efforts in each and every areas like editing, locations, character selection, making, art, screenplay, narration, Camera frame, color to make it more stylish than the original. With Ravimama being played Kiccha's father role, Kiccha has given more prominence on 'Love' aspect and has carried the story track on 'winning hearts with love instead of fights and grudge' (unlike the original Mirchi which had more of commercial mass elements)

First half goes on cool as cucumber with a fantastic show up of Ravimama's name in title card and a different way of presentation of all the Technician details. Further moves on with extra-ordinary intro of Kiccha, lovely backdrops of Singapore, Superb graphical glimpse, Charming new bee Ranya, hilarious Sadhu's comedy touch, Scintillating performance of Kiccha and an amazing intro of Ravimama.Second half goes on with a much more faster pace like a tracer bullet, that consists of raw village backdrops (Bidhar district), Mind boggling ravimama's performance, equally mind blowing performance from Kiccha & Ravishankar, Ramyakrishna, Continued comedy of Sadhu, Ashok, Shobraj, Padma vasanthi, Heart touching Father/Son conversation (I and guddu were literally crying looking at ravimama's performance) and finalised with Stupendous Climax. All these items are being supported by powerful Dialogues.

As usual Kiccha is rocking, stylish, Stunning, Scintillating, Electrifying, emotional and ecstatic in each and every place he appears. He has lived in the character and has outperformed in his role as Vijay/Jai.

Ravimama's performance is equally outstanding, heart touching and Top class. He has excelled to the core as Kiccha's father and deserves a big round of applause for his natural acting in 2 important plots that includes Climax and this whole 1 hour of the movie is haunting.

Ranya is great find - who is wonderful glam doll and appears amazing in 'Ninna hinde' song and all other parts in the movie. Varalakshmi also has played her part and tried to give justice to the assigned role and looks good in 'Maamu maamu' song.

Although we heard mixed reviews during audio reviews, songs have come out very well, particularly 'Jeena jeena', 'Ninna hinde' and 'Jeeva jeeva'. Ninna hinde and Jeeva jeeva are a treat to watch. Besides this Arjun Janya has also provided ultimate BGM during action episodes and Climax. Full marks for all his effort.

As already explained Kiccha is a winner here as a director as well and time to enjoy the success of all the hard work and homework that he has put though to get Manikya out. Salute to all your efforts with regards to lavish making, rich visuals, screenplay and fast paced narration in second half (to make the movie look crisp)

Good work from Ravi Sreevatsa for some amazing dialogues and also good job from Vijay, ganesh & Venkat who have pulled out some great action episodes in Pre-interval, Pre-Climax and Climax fights. Also good job from all the other technicians for their immense effort.

All in all, although being remake, MAANIKYA has all necessary ingredients like love, class, mass, to make it a must watch movie. Go watch it for Kiccha & Ravimama's extremely ecstatic performances.
